Honeywell have announced the launch of an initiative to recruit specialized mobility resellers for its Scanning & Mobility business in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
The Lets Talk Mobility program will be carried out together with distributor ScanSource, and is aimed at building long-term relationships with value added resellers that offer strong solutions in transportation and logistics, retail, healthcare, and enterprise mobility. In turn, Honeywell and ScanSource will provide the resellers with a clear channel and pricing structure, value added services, and the conditions to enable long-term growth.
Our broad mobility product portfolio reflects our commitment to research and development, said Dave Sharratt, Channel Sales Director EMEA, Honeywell Scanning & Mobility. This year, we have launched several great new mobile devices, such as the Dolphin 6100 for retail applications, the Dolphin 9951 for long-range scanning, as well as the Dolphin 7600 with GPS for location-based applications, and we have exciting plans for 2010. Initiatives like this help us identify the right resellers across Europe to implement these devices, and to improve efficiency and productivity for customers in the selected verticals.
In the program, resellers can access stock availability, financial support, staging services, and logistics and marketing services from ScanSource, as well as support from Honeywell to grow a profitable business. The channel reseller program we launched earlier this year has ensured a transparent channel and price structure, Sharratt continued. Since the launch, we have identified certain areas where we can improve our channel solutions coverage. At the same time, we plan to ensure profitability for our resellers by working with a selected group in the targeted industry segments and geographies.
The program is designed as an on-boarding process, which allows resellers to familiarize themselves with Honeywell products and our services, said Maurice van Rijn, Sales Director Northern Europe at ScanSource. Our goal is to develop the relationship gradually, and to work on joint customer projects within the first few months. Together, we will support the resellers with product training, joint customer visits, and other resources.
The Honeywell Scanning & Mobility product line is one of the broadest in the AIDC industry, providing solutions for vertical markets such as retail, healthcare, and transportation and logistics. Its products range from cordless and corded hand-held bar code scanners and rugged mobile computers to self-service kiosks and bar code verification equipment.
Quick delivery of Honeywells mobility solutions is another benefit that resellers will realize as a result of this initiative. ScanSource Europes 13,700m warehouse, stocked with over 161,000 items, is centrally located at the heart of the European motorway network. If orders are processed before cut-off, they ship the same day, meaning the majority of customers receive their orders within two working days.
