Blackroc Distribution, a UK distributor of AIDC products, has become an authorised distributor for M3 Mobile (formerly Mobilecompia), in the UK. With a full range of features, the addition of the M3 series to Blackrocs portfolio will enable it to offer hardware solutions to resellers at every price point.

Tough economic times are forcing end users to be more cautious about spending money on mobile technology and therefore making the current market extremely price competitive, commented Paul Johnston, sales manager at Blackroc Distribution. We recognised that there was a significant gap in the AIDC market for a range of handheld computers that could offer full functionality for a more competitive cost. M3 Mobile PDAs filled this gap.

 Lowest price point

Specialising in the manufacture of rugged PDAs, which are designed to maximise productivity of mobile workers out in the field, M3 has already experienced success in a variety of markets including logistics, field service, postal and utilities. At present, the M3 unit is available in several different configurations and we understand that there are plans to launch further ground breaking terminals over the coming months, continued Johnston. All of M3s mobile computers are extremely rugged, yet boast an impressive range of functionality including 1D and 2D barcode scanners, a colour camera, GPRS and Wi-Fi communications. Whats more, all of this is available to resellers at the lowest price point on the market today.

Every device has been developed with productivity in mind and has been rigorously tested to ensure that maintenance costs are kept as low as possible. M3 PDAs are IP64-rated against the ingress of dust and moisture, are drop tested from 1.5 metres and can also claimed to be able to withstand extreme temperature conditions, making them suitable for even the most demanding outdoor applications. Should end-users ever experience a problem, M3 offers a two-year warranty on all devices. Also, as an authorised repair centre, Blackroc reports that it can ensure fast repair turnaround times to maximise uptime.

Matching individual business objectives

The modularity of the M3s design allows it to be tailored to suit specific customer needs, ensuring that each device is able to match individual business objectives. In addition, M3 supplies all its devices with two batteries, a desktop cradle charger, earphone microphone and Active Sync software, making the device ready to run as soon as possible.

The current economic downturn has forced a number of resellers to walk away from a deal because they cant compete on price, concluded Johnston. By supplying M3 PDAs and providing a comprehensive repair service, Blackroc resellers can rest assured that they are able to offer a price competitive alternative to their customers, without compromising on quality or performance.
