Blazepoint, a leader in rugged technology and engineering, is celebrating after not only helping Pete Goss MBE throughout his epic sailing voyage from Cornwall to Australia, by providing him with its ndura Rugged laptop, but also aiding him in his support of the educational charity, Playing For Success.
Pete, who built a 37ft Lugger boat named the Spirit Of mystery in October 2008, to follow in the wake of the Mystery, which sailed from Cornwall to Australia in 1854, said, The Cornish school children (at Playing For Success) were engaged in all aspects of the voyage and the ndura Rugged laptop played a pivotal role maintaining communications throughout the trip.
Powered by a solar panel, the laptop provided us with the ideal tool to edit video footage, store image stills, daily blog writing and manage our safety communications. It was really fantastic and played a crucial role in both setting up the project and acting as a communications hub during the voyage itself. Enabling the children at Playing For Success to gain a greater understanding of the tasks involved and the sheer magnitude of the voyage, as well as the complexity of organising and undertaking such a voyage today, the laptop provided by Blazepoint has encountered nothing but praise.
