IDTechEx has announced its annual conference focusing on the application of active RFID: RTLS & Wireless Sensor Network Summit. This year, the event is co-located with the inaugural Energy Harvesting & Storage USA conference and will take place on 3-4 November 2009 in Denver, USA.

RTLS is one of the fastest growing segments in RFID. Active RFID, including RTLS, will grow from $610 million in 2009 to $6.74 billion in 2019. The US Government, healthcare, manufacturing, oil & gas, and civil engineering are key vertical markets that are employing RFID and these will be covered in detail at the event, with experiences and needs from a wide range of end users. The conference will cover the full breadth of technologies from RFID enabled cell-phones to wireless sensor network technologies, assessing all these options. This event is the only one to focus on the hottest aspects of RFID. More details can be found at: www.IDTechEx.com/RTLS

In addition, the event will be co-located with Energy Harvesting & Storage USA. Energy harvesting (energy scavenging) is concerned with converting ambient energy into electricity for small devices. This has many exciting applications, such as perpetual devices which can run for decades, wireless sensors and switches, and powering devices from watches to laptops to new printed electronics. This IDTechEx event, the first to focus on the uses, potential users and market forecasts as well as giving the latest technology trends, is the meeting place for users, investors, suppliers, developers, system integrators and government representatives.
