Kiosk Europe Expo 2009 and Digital Signage Expo 2009

Kiosk Europe Expo 2009 and Digital Signage Expo 2009, which are both taking place from 5 to 7 May 2009 in Essen, Germany, will offer multi-sector and up-to-the-minute information about digital signage and self-service solutions.

Live installations in the Digital Signage Content Centre and in the Self-Service Futures Parlour (which will showcase tomorrows scenarios for self-service solutions) will complement a daily series of presentations in the Forum, alongside the offerings of more than 150 exhibitors showcasing their complete solutions and special products.

High-profile international companies are using this meeting of industry experts to introduce their latest solutions. Oki is announcing the next generation of its compact kiosk systems with integrated applications for fingerprint recognition and passport scanning. Deutsche Telekom is showing the Interactive Citylight Display (ICLD) with a large 82-inch touch screen as well as an additional touchscreeen that can be used to select more detailed information on the advertisement shown. This also enables exact measurements of which messages are accessed from which location and how often. Impuls TV has developed a solution for new media at the point of sale that will be offered for hire.

As part of the new Digital Awards 2009 programme from POPAI D-A-CH, selected entrants will be demonstrating their solutions at the Digital Signage Content Centre. The fair will therefore offer an overview of current live digital signage applications, as only solutions that are already in use in several locations can be entered for the awards. During the show, visitors can vote, amongst other things, for the best digital signage solution, the best interactive solution and the best integrated solution.

In the daily series of talks to be held in the Open Forum (free for registered visitors) experts will explain how users from various sectors can use digital signage and self-service solutions for cost-effective communication with their target audiences. Amongst other topics, visitors will be able to learn about the success gained by the Dohle Handelsgruppe retail business through the installation of digital signage in its HIT supermarkets. Invidis Consulting and Computer Reseller News will present the results of a market study they have initiated examining developments at distribution and system houses. The integration of RFID and Near Field Communication (NFC) will be an important topic this year, both for the Forum and for the exhibitors.

In the Self-Service Futures Parlour, the Institute for New Media (INM) will offer an insight into the future of self-service solutions, demonstrating future scenarios with the help of augmented reality, which supplement the real environment with virtual information. Visitors to the fair can learn about solutions that are already in place and, at the same time, find out about forthcoming trends and future scenarios, said Jens Schindler, Managing Director of show organisers hf media & events. Recent developments in augmented reality, RFID and NFC clearly show that the possibilities of interactivity with digital signage and self-service solutions are far from exhausted, and the market still offers tremendous potential for growth.

This year, we are expecting the same number of visitors to the fair as last year, including high-profile representatives from various market sectors, continued Schindler. The numerous visitors who have already registered will gain a comprehensive overview of the added value that can be achieved with digital signage and self-service solutions. In addition to reduced costs of communication with their customers, these include an increase in turnover, customer acquisition and greater customer loyalty. The more than 150 exhibitors include companies operating at an international level, such as 42 media group, Deutsche Telekom, Epson, Hyundai, IBM and partners, Narcomm, NEC, Oki, Scala, Seen Media, Sharp, Videro and Wincor Nixdorf. Sponsors are Friendlyway, Hughes, Impuls TV, Provisio, Star Micronics and Werkstation.

The events will be held on 5, 6, 7 May 2009 in Messe Essen, Essen, Germany, and entrance is free for pre-registered visitors. To pre-register please visit www.kioskeurope-expo.com or www.digitalsignageexpo.eu
