AURES POSLIGNE terminals now feature biometric technology

Odyss, the POSLIGNE range's flagship product, has become the first integrated terminal to offer the new biometric system for scanning and recognising fingerprints.

Located on the right-hand side of the machine, on the same unit as the magnetic card reader (MCR), the fingerprint reader can help ensure that only designated users can access the EPoS system to perform till functions and/or other administrative operations at the cash desk.

The process of identification to grant the relevant access rights requires nothing more than a simple scan and recognition of a user's previously recorded fingerprint: the use of biometric technology constitutes the very last word in security for the till system.

The "Software Development Kit" designed for the reader, which can be downloaded from AURES technical website - http://www.aures-support.fr/UK - enables systems managers to integrate the biometric scan feature with their EPoS management and cash desk software, as well as modify the list and number of users who are authorised to perform various functions at each equipped point of sale.
