Avnet Technology Solutions (Avnet), the value-added IT distributor, picked up two achievement awards at Suns recent annual awards ceremony.
For the second year running Sun awarded Avnet with the distinguished Channel Development Partner of the Year Award in recognition of its success in supporting and driving business growth with Suns Principal and Associate Partners. In addition Andy James of Avnet collected the Systems Engineer of the Year Award for demonstrating a significant technical contribution to the Sun business.
Commenting on Avnets success Paul Flannery, Partner Sales Director said, Avnet Technology Solutions has shown great commitment to driving Sun business within the channel. Its alignment with Sun and its ongoing investment make Avnet a worthy recipient of both awards.
Paul Young, Business Unit Director at Avnet, who collected the award said, Avnet is driven to help Business Partners succeed in selling solutions built on Sun infrastructures. Combining its understanding of the channel and end user market place with its deep knowledge of Sun, Avnet develops programmes and invests in resources to provide Business Partners with the tools needed to sell effectively.
He continued, For many of our Business Partners, the resources provided by Avnet become an intrinsic element of their own organisation. In particular in areas such as technical support, where skilled people can be a rare commodity, Avnet can really add value. These awards sum up for us the importance of Avnets role in the Sun channel.

These partners include BSI who was awarded with Value Added Reseller and Marketing Excellence Awards, Repton who was presented with the Commitment to Growth Award and Fujitsu who won Systems Integrator of the Year.
