Maxa Technologies is now including the NCR RealPOS 7168 two- sided multifunction printer in its range, which by printing on both sides of the receipt can save trees, money, promote products and improve business operations in a chain reaction.

This two-sided printing technology should contribute to protecting the environment to some extent by using 45% less paper and so less trees are cut down, while also maximising the potential to promote businesses brands, which in turn means a good return on investment, said Andrea Percival, director of Maxa Technologies.

By simultaneously printing on both sides of the receipt, it is possible to improve the promotion of products and services within shops and deliver improved customer satisfaction. This saves time especially during busy peak times and means lanes can be kept up and running when its needed most and allows customers to get through the shop quickly and conveniently. In addition, the two-sided multifunction printer provides

a 5-25% savings on annual receipt paper investment, including freight and storage costs.  8 T W O - S I D E D M U L T I F U N C T I O N P R I N T E R

There is the advantage of using less paper. If a 12 lane supermarket uses two-sided printing technology, it will save up to 45% of their paper usage and could potentially save 15-75 trees per year!

Having ample memory to store corporate logos and graphics, the NCR RealPOS two-sided multifunction printer offers an affordable colour option (blue, black or red) on one side of the receipt. This provides an enhanced advertising vehicle that can be controlled and updated by transaction or by the store. The disadvantage of pre-printed paper is that it might change or expire over time.

Other benefits to the new printer include, control over the messages and promotions customers receive at the checkout. The printer gives customers a shorter, more manageable receipt instead of the traditional long, bulky, cumbersome receipts that are offered today. In addition, the new printer can print up to 52 lines per second (front and back), enabling quick transactions.

Another key advantage is the advanced cheque handling. Despite the widespread use of debit and credit cards, consumers still write millions of cheques every year. Features that help reduce costs and improve cashier productivity at the checkout. An optional cheque MICR reader enables quick and reliable cheque validation, while cheque-flip allows single insertion cheque handling, minimizing human intervention and improving productivity. The cheque-flip function also enables printing on both sides of a cheque, which speeds up the checkout process.
