Fujitsu Services, one of Europes leading IT services companies, has signed a two-year deal with Box Technologies, a leading provider in a diverse range of technologies and services aimed at multiple industry sectors.

The agreement will see Box Technologies become an official distributor of the Fujitsu B-pad device, offering the solution to a wide-range of customers across the travel, hospitality and retail sectors.

The B-Pad is a lightweight mobile computer which is among the first to allow retailers to take customers orders and receive secure payment from one device. It offers multiple functionality, including order processing, mobile payment, stock management and self-checkout and is widely used by a number of leading companies in the hospitality, leisure and retail sectors including TGI Fridays and WH Smith. B-Pad is also the first Microsoft Windows all-in-one mobile device to be awarded Payment Card Industry Compliance (PCI).

Box Technologies has an unrivalled track record of systems deployment throughout the retail and hospitality markets. As an official distributor of the device, it will offer additional support and maintenance services to its clients.

Commenting on the deal, Mark Keohane head of self-service and mobile solutions at Fujitsu Services said: Box Technologies is widely recognised as a market leader in the provision of innovative solutions and services to the UK retail sector and overseas. Fujitsu is delighted to be working with Box to offer its B-Pad device to a wide-range of travel, hospitality and retail companies. Boxs decision to distribute the B-Pad is further validation of its strengths as an all-in-one mobile device.

As a mobile unit, B-Pad helps retailers to deliver increased store productivity and an enhanced shopping experience for customers. Capable of managing customer transactions from product information requests to order processing and secure payment, B-Pad provides a one-stop personalised solution for customers and is ideally placed to help manage the peaks and troughs in customer demand, providing a robust and highly effective queue busting solution.

Stuart Walker, managing director at Box Technologies added: Fujitsu and Box Technologies have been working together for a number of years and we are delighted to be able to extend our partnership.  The functionality of the B-Pad makes it an ideal device for improving and personalising customer experience and we look forward to offering this as part of our extensive portfolio of products and services.
