TrustPort Antivirus 2009 and TrustPort PC Security 2009 security solutions have gone through several minor updates since their release. Now, a major update has arrived, upgrading the user value of the software in a fundamental way. The change is about a significant speedup of the antivirus module, used in both products. The efforts of the developing team were focused on optimizing the scanning method, which should prevent unnecessary consumption of computer performance.

The users of antivirus solutions are often interested, how fast these solutions are and how much they use system sources. On-access  scanner in the latest version of our antivirus includes sophisticated technology for monitoring changes in the NTFS file system, explains Petr Vanek, Director of TrustPort Development Department. Thanks to this technology, we have minimized redundant file scanning and accelerated our on-access scanner. The speedup ranges from 30 to 50 %; ideally, it can reach even 85 % in comparison to the previous version.

On-access scanner ensures automatic control of files in the computer  when being read or written. As soon as the antivirus module detects a suspicious file, it handles the file according to user settings. The user may choose between access denial, renaming the file, moving to quarantine or deleting the file.

The customers may upgrade to the updated versions of TrustPort Antivirus 2009 and TrustPort PC Security 2009 for free. The new version can be installed to the system without uninstalling the previous version.

TrustPort Antivirus 2009 and TrustPort PC Security 2009 products are suitable for both private users, who want to protect themselves while using their computer for entertainment or work, and for corporate clients, who need to secure their company data. Both products expect most threats to come via the internet, specifically due to web browsing and receiving electronic mail; they also reckon with the danger of virus infection via portable media.

For a systematic use of these two products in larger corporate networks, the manufacturer offers for free a central administration tool TrustPort Management. Central installation, remote control and collective updates of the software are possible with the help of this tool that can be managed via web interface.

The first major update of TrustPort PC Security 2009 and TrustPort Antivirus 2009 is not the only novelty from TrustPort. Shortly, the producer of security software will introduce two new interesting products, focused mainly on home users.
