Varlink, the York-based mobile computing and product hardware distributor, has become a UK distributor for Tripod Data Systems, Inc. (TDS), a Trimble company. Located in the U.S., TDS designs and manufactures the Nomad, Recon and Ranger outdoor rugged handheld computers, all of which meet MIL-STD-810F and IP67 ratings.

Rob Davis, director of sales and marketing for TDS, commented, We are excited to work with Varlink to expand our reseller base, support our growth in the outdoor rugged mobile computing market and pursue new opportunities in the UK. Varlink has a solid track record of sales, marketing and support programs specifically geared for their vendors. We look forward to working with Varlink.

Varlink CEO Mike Pullon stated, Our customers are constantly encouraging us to bring products to market which provide the opportunity to, in turn, offer their customers class-leading performance at a realistic price, while being able to retain a worthwhile margin. Our growth in the past year (at over 90 percent) indicates that we have been delivering what is required, and I believe that the TDS product range will provide IT resellers with even more opportunities to work with us.

Varlink also reported on its performance as it closed its third year of trading. We are pleased with the progress achieved since last year. Our year to date growth is above 100% and our current run rate puts as at around 7 million p.a. Our sector has seen significant consolidation this year which leaves us in a strong position as the leading specialist, in-country distributor of Mobile Computing and Data Capture products.

Mike Pullon also commented that Varlink was expecting to announce additional distribution agreements in the near future.
