Wasp Barcode Technologies is the UK arm of the USA company with the same name. The company offers hardware and software packages for Auto-ID, Assset Tracking, Inventory Control and Point of Sale. Wasp is ultimately owned by Europes largest barcode manufacturer, Datalogic.
Wasp is responding to the high level of interest in Asset and Inventory solutions from UK SMEs and is stepping up its activities to meet this demand.
One year ago, Wasp had 240 UK resellers, working via distributors Ingrams, XMA and Midwich. Today there are 300 independent resellers in the WASPLINK Programme plus 35 specialists.
WASP has recently moved to larger premises in West Malling, Kent and has just appointed three new staff who will be responsible for assisting with demonstrations and channel support for the WASPLINK channel programme.

The UK SME market is just waking up to the efficiencies to be gained from inventory or stock control and asset management, where the solutions for SMEs are still quite new. Its a fantastic opportunity for resellers, who can achieve margins of around 20% on bar code and Auto-ID products as apposed to 5 6% on PCs and infrastructure systems. We are actively seeking to expand WASPLINK to 400 UK members, so that we are represented in every corner of the UK and every vertical business sector.
