Intel appoints Hammer for Nordics

Intel and Hammer have announced that Hammer has been authorised on the Intel Server & Storage product line for the four Nordic countries.

This long-awaited agreement means that the Nordic region will get its own Intel server and storage specialist distributor, helping customers win server and storage business by offering full or partial customisations of their systems.

The appointment of Hammer is a very important step in driving our server business in the Nordic region, says Christian Bohn, Channel manager Nordic region, Intel. By being able to offer Intels full portfolio of server components combined with a strong technical expertise, Hammer will fill an important role that has been missing in Intels distribution network.

Hammer opened its Stockholm office two years ago and the company is now planning to expand its presence with additional technical resources in the second half of 2008. The agreement is the first distribution agreement between Hammer and Intel outside the UK.

"Hammers business has successfully continued to increase during the last two years in the Nordic regions, and we now have a dedicated Intel team including a new BDM who will assist the team with growing Intel server and storage business within the Nordics region, says Alberto Cacace, Hammers European general manager.

"Hammer's appointment by Intel to be the only authorised server and storage distributor for the Nordics regions is a great achievement and will give us the opportunity to build on our high levels of service and focus. There is no doubt that Hammer's exceptional portfolio and expertise combined with Intels strong reputation in the market place will give partners an unprecedented advantage when developing their server and storage business," states Cacace.

The agreement with Hammer means that the restructuring of the Intel Authorised Distributor programme that has been in process for last two years is now completed.

The following companies are authorized Intel distributors in the Nordic region:

  • Actebis: Intel Authorised Distributor in Denmark, Norway, Sweden
  • GNT: Intel Authorised Distributor in Finland, Sweden
  • Hammer: Intel Authorised Server & Storage Distributor in Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden (new from July 1, 2008)
  • Ingram Micro: Intel Authorised Distributor in Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden.
