Aperture Technologies provides its biggest UK client with VISTA 400/500 for greener, more efficient, cost-effective infrastructure management at its state-of-the-art new data centre site
Aperture Technologies, a leading global provider of software for managing the physical infrastructure of data centres is providing Fujitsu Services, a leading IT Services company in the EMEA region, with comprehensive Aperture VISTA infrastructure resource management technology for its new 44 million Tier 3 data centre.
Bill Clifford, chairman and CEO of Aperture Technologies said: Aperture VISTA has the power to changes the way businesses run their data centres and that includes Fujitsu Services, our biggest customer in the UK. Existing VISTA support will now be expanded across the new data centre to ultimately form part of a company-wide upgrade to VISTA 500, providing even greater insight into management of physical resources and data volumes as well as enhanced energy efficiency and environmental functionality.
Fujitsu Services new 65,000 square foot data centre has been built on a brown-field site in Stevenage using the very latest environmental features, allowing customers to overcome their data centre capacity problems while remaining as green as possible. It is believed that an inherently low construction carbon footprint coupled with greater efficiency gained through an IT modernisation programme which included the deployment of Aperture VISTA, will save the equivalent of 10,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide each year.

It is vital that we extract maximum value from our data centres. Obviously we need our services to be resilient, reliable and cost-effective for end customers, but we must also fulfil compliance and regulatory obligations as well as enhancing our increasingly impressive green credentials.
Aperture not only enables us to ensure efficient infrastructure and capacity management, but also to construct data centre facilities that are balanced in terms of power consumption. In any given data centre, 30-40% of running costs can be attributed to electricity consumption. As energy is one of the few variable elements over which we have control, it can make a big difference to customer costs as well as the environment if we can streamline equipment usage. Some government contracts even stipulate certain standards of energy efficiency.
Aperture VISTA is a comprehensive, holistic data centre infrastructure resource management system that revolutionise the way companies manage today's increasingly complex data centre environments. Fujitsu Services is also trialling Apertures standalone Environmental Monitoring module, which Aperture hopes to one day fully integrate into VISTA along with a number of other environmentally efficient technology developments in the pipeline.
