CommVault announces strategic partnership with Magirus

CommVault has announced that Magirus International, one of the leading European IT solution providers, will now offer CommVault Simpana software as part of its storage and data management portfolio.

To enable the organisation to provide its partners with a more comprehensive portfolio of data and information management solutions, complementing its existing range of storage systems and services, Magirus will distribute the CommVault Simpana suite of Backup/Recovery, Replication, Archive, Search and Resource Management software to resellers in the UK, Germany, Italy, Spain, Austria and Switzerland. 

Magirus strong background in storage and vast knowledge of the IT industry were appealing to CommVault as we reviewed potential strategic partners, said Vince Blackall, CommVaults managing director of channels, EMEA.   As the demand for next-generation data and information management solutions grows in EMEA, Magirus account management expertise and unique approach to the marketplace will help our mutual partners differentiate themselves with end users.

Under the new agreement, Magirus will assume local marketing, product distribution, reseller accreditation, professional services and certain support responsibilities for the CommVault software. The two companies will also work together to expand business development and lead generation opportunities for partners. Magirus will also be gaining access to CommVaults world class technical support and training network.

CommVault is a strategic addition to our storage portfolio and will give our resellers a greater choice of solutions, added Christian Magirus, executive vice-president and chief operating officer at Magirus. The CommVault software suite is a strong proposition for partners and end-users as it is easy to use and gives a flexible migration path that suits different business needs.

With this agreement, CommVault continues to expand its footprint across the European market building on existing OEM and partner agreements which include Bull and Incentra Solutions.
