Avnet to Distribute eCopy Document Imaging Software to Channel Partners in EMEA

Avnet Technology Solutions, a value-added distributor of enterprise computing products, and eCopy, Inc., a provider of document imaging solutions that integrate paper documents into business software applications, has announced a distribution agreement for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). The agreement enables Avnet to distribute eCopy document imaging products to its extensive group of channel partners.

Initially, eCopy software will be available through Avnet to its channel partners in the U.K., where Avnet is the largest distributor of standalone document scanners for the office. Avnet will then extend distribution of eCopy software by country throughout EMEA.

There is significant demand from our channel partners to provide a complete document management solution, said David Lewis, software managing director, Avnet Technology Solutions, EMEA. By adding eCopy to our portfolio, our partners will be able to offer a comprehensive solution that includes scanners, document management and document imaging software. This is a winning combination for end users, because it enables any office worker to manage paper and electronic documents, providing the tools needed to address document productivity, security and regulatory compliance requirements.

Avnet will distribute the following eCopy software products to its partners:

eCopy DesktopTM -- PC software that improves productivity by enabling office workers to use desktop scanners to capture documents and create PDF files. The software makes it easy to scan, edit and secure paper documents so that users can work with and share these documents just as they would electronic files, like those created using Microsoft Word or Excel. It also enables users to combine paper and electronic files into a single PDF document.

eCopy ShareScan Suite -- An all-encompassing document scanning solution for business process efficiency with an unmatched level of enterprise application connectivity. The software includes out-of-the-box integration to leading content management, e-mail, fax, database, collaboration and cost recovery software applications, as well as eCopy Desktop. It enables users to work securely and seamlessly with familiar software applications from any ISIS-compatible scanner equipped with an ergonomic eCopy ScanStation for Scanners, which includes a large touch screen and keyboard designed to mount on a table top next to the scanner.

eCopy and third-party developers in the eCopy Alliance Program offer a series of connectors that provide direct integration between Avnet scanners and virtually any back-end application for compliance, document management, cost recovery, customisation, etc. In addition, eCopy offers a software developers kit that is ideal for providing custom integration to software applications via professional services engagements.

eCopy software is designed to make it easy for any office worker to scan documents directly into business applications, said Alan Cornwell, eCopy general manager - Europe. There is significant market opportunity for Avnet channel partners to be among the first to offer our new scanner software products and provide end users with eCopys direct integration to more than 85 business software systems. eCopy software provides a natural yet powerful extension to the solutions that Avnet partners are already offering.

Availability: eCopy products will be available from Avnet in April 2008.
