Chip PC announces UK distribution agreement with CDG

Chip PC has announced that CDG UK, a specialist distributor of centralised computing technologies, has been appointed to distribute its server-centric and virtualisation solutions including thin client access devices and advanced management software in the UK.

Under the agreement, Chip PC and CDG will provide support and solutions to resellers targeting the growing market for virtual and centralised computing.

Virtualisation and server-centric models are transforming the IT landscape by greatly improving the efficiency and agility of IT operations, while dramatically reducing cost.  The proven benefits of this approach are fuelling increased demand for thin client and centralised computing solutions, such as desktop virtualisation, bringing new opportunities for resellers.

With a carefully-selected portfolio of specialist, industry-leading products and services CDG is well attuned to the current market demands for server-centric computing, said Stephan Herkert, Vice President, Chip PC.  CDGs understanding of centralised computing together with its end-user support services and technology expertise make it a natural fit for Chip PC.

Under the partnership, CDG will support and deliver Chip PCs range of solutions from smart access devices to Active Directory-based management software.

Chip PCs thin client hardware platforms for enterprises feature many patented technologies and industry firsts:

  • Chip PC is the first and only vendor to offer a thin-client small enough to fit inside an existing LAN jack - the Jack-PC.
  • Chip PC thin clients offer the lowest power consumption of any desktop device (3.5W -5W).
  • Chip PCs Xcalibur Global platform is the only thin-client management platform that offers full integration with Active Directory and scalability to the hundred of thousands clients scale.

Chip PC is the fastest growing vendor of thin client solutions and provides the most advanced thin client technologies and system management software on the market, commented Allan Tyrrell, CDGs UK Managing Director. Chip PC complements our growing portfolio of specialist vendors, and, we believe, offers great value to the channel.  We are very excited about the new agreement and the benefits we can offer to our reseller partners in supporting Chip PCs solutions.

Simon Totterdel, UK country manager of Chip PC UK adds, We are very pleased to announce the Chip PC and CDG partnership.  The alliance is instrumental in supporting and driving our market growth in the UK.  We look forward to working with the CDG team and expanding our channel network across the region.
