Datalogic Mobile has appointed Colin Pike (pictured) as Country Manager of its UK subsidiary.
Colin brings a wealth of experience to the role with over 22 years in the Auto ID industry, most of the time being in the mobility sector. He has held senior roles at both national and international level.

Datalogic Mobile UK plans to recruit two specialist retail account managers with immediate effect. Our primary focus will be on the UK retail vertical and, in particular, store systems. This is an area where Datalogic has had great success globally with its client list a veritable whos who of retailing. The Datalogic Memor pocket laser terminal and Datalogic Skorpio palm and pistol laser mobiles have unique features and can generate very rapid ROIs for retailers. They are used extensively in stock control/PI, price markdown, inter-store transfers and loss prevention solutions.
As a manufacturer Datalogic Mobile is relatively unique, in so far as the company supplies its own application software (such as Telnet Client, locked down web browser and remote device management) as well as its own software tools and utilities. The remote device management tools in particular have been a key element in the companys growth. Our customers are more than ever very much focussed on the total cost of ownership when deciding which vendor to select. In the past there have been hidden charges associated with deploying mobile devices. Over time there is a need to change software or configuration parameters which has previously necessitated the physical return of the mobile device result in lost productivity, shipping and other costs. Datalogics remote device management tools, means that such changes can be made from a remote server eliminating these downstream costs. These tools are typically bundled free of charge into the mobile devices we deploy.
Warehouse and distribution is another key vertical. Datalogic Mobile also recently announced its a Voice Picking solution for the Datalogic Jet and Kyman rugged portable terminals. Voice picking is the fastest growing segment of the WHMS market. This complements Datalogic Mobiles range of 6 handheld, 5 pistol grip and 4 truck mounted mobile devices.
