Canon UK, a leader in digital imaging technology, has launched its first ever Mid-Volume Production Scanner the imageFORMULA DR-X10C. Aimed at corporates, large business units and scanning bureaus, the imageFORMULA DR-X10C is Canons new flagship model for its comprehensive imageFORMULA scanner portfolio.
With the average UK office dedicating over 10% of its floor space to filing cabinets (Source: Kadence Ltd, 2004) digitising hard copy documents is critical. To help address this Canon is driving innovation in the Mid-Volume scanning segment with the imageFORMULA DR-X10C. Delivering a speedy 100 pages per minute with enhanced ease of use, quality and reliability the DR-X10C offers a number of industry-first technology features to improve office productivity and maximise office floor space. The new device offers auto-detection of paper size and skew angle through a dedicated hardware image sensor, and an automatic feeder retry function whenever a double feed is detected. The Active Separation Torque Control enables a wide range of media including very thin, delicate documents to be reliably separated and processed.
The new model also offers dust-free scanning with dedicated wiper brushes inside the scanner that clean the imaging glass before every document scanned, delivering consistently high-quality images. It is new features such as this which will help to minimise device downtime to guarantee that those responsible for document management systems can focus on their core role.
The high-performance imageFORMULA DR-X10C is capable of colour scanning speeds of up to 100 pages and 200 images per minute at both 200 and 300 dpi in portrait orientation. Unlike other similar models on the market it maintains this strong level of performance in landscape with the capability of 128 pages and 256 images per minute. Like all Canon products, the imageFORMULA DR-X10C is designed with the highest levels of durability, supporting up to 60,000 scans per day.
As Canons new flagship model, the imageFORMULA DR-X10C is packed with image processing features such as auto-colour detection, text orientation recognition, and advanced text enhancement. It is also bundled with Canons user-friendly and powerful Capture Perfect. The new model combines high-speed colour scanning, reliable innovative document feeding, and superior image quality to bring high speed production scanning to the Mid-Volume segment. With knowledge workers spending 54% of their time looking for information and not being able to find what they need 50% of that time* businesses cannot afford to waste valuable time looking for mission-critical business documents.
Tracey Fielden, Head of Office Marketing, Canon UK says: The need to electronically capture and share hardcopy information has become an essential business function. The introduction of Canon's new flagship imageFORMULA DR scanner is a significant move, offering high-speed and high-performance scanning for corporates and large business units in a number of vertical industries including the financial, government, education and legal sectors.
Canon has been number one in terms of market share in the European high speed market for the Low Volume Production segment since 2005, according to InfoSource**. Tracey Fielden continues, The imageFORMULA DR-X10C builds on Canons rich heritage in the broader scanning market. This move represents Canons first step into the Mid-Volume Production sector and comes quick on the heels of the January launch of Canons new high-performance workgroup scanners, the imageFORMULA DR-2010C and the imageFORMULA DR-2510C. The launch of the imageFORMULA DR-X10C will spearhead Canons drive to increase its presence in all segments of the high-speed document scanning market.
Canons imageFORMULA DR-X10C will be available in the UK & Ireland from 10 March 2008 with a RRP of 14,726.
