IKn available from Varlink

One of the products that Varlink expects high demand for in the weeks ahead is the recently launched the iKn a rugged PDA (personal digital assistant).

Compact and with robust built-in functionality, iKn is claimed to be an ideal mobile computing device, delivering increased productivity and efficiency by enabling many advanced mobile applications to be carried out from a single unit. Whether reading barcodes with its integrated imager or scanner, or using its inbuilt camera to take a colour picture, iKn is a data capture device suitable for mobile workers in a range of applications.  iKn offers a choice of three operating systems, including Microsoft Windows CE .NET 5, Microsoft Windows Mobile 6 Classic and Professional. The capability of iKn to fully integrate voice and data communication options onto a single device eliminates the need for multiple units effectively reducing capital expenditures as well as support costs.

iKn delivers true anytime, anywhere, wireless voice and data communications, GPS positioning, with simultaneous WiFi, Cellular (GSM/GPRS/UMTS) and Bluetooth connectivity options. These features enable real-time information management, improved efficiencies and increased asset visibility across a customers operations.  With a full VGA display, iKn is more suitable for complex applications with sophisticated graphics than many competing devices with one-quarter VGA displays.  In addition, iKns high battery capacity ensures that mobile workers maximize their productivity throughout the day.
