Ingram Micro UK and Cisco to build on Irish success

Ingram Micro (UK) Ltd, a subsidiary of Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE:IM), the global wholesale provider of technology products and supply chain management services, has announced an agreement with Cisco Systems to build on their successful partnership in the UK by extending distribution coverage to Ireland.

Cisco will be supporting Ingram Micro as an Irish distribution partner following similar appointments last year in Denmark and Belgium. In 2007 Ingram Micro Europe won, as the first distributor ever, the Cisco European Partner of the Year Award.

Ciscos European Partner of the Year Award and its support of Ingram Micro in Ireland are recent examples of the strong relationship between these two leading global organisations. That relationship, based on the enablement of resellers, will now be provided to the Irish reseller community.

Reseller enablement is the fundamental tenant of the success of Ingram Micro and Cisco. Networking solutions are built on a blend of products and supporting services. Representing the products and services of an organisation such as Cisco is a strategic step for Ingram Micro in the networking products area; the equally as important second step is the investment in specialist support services. It is in these areas of the Irish market that Ingram Micro will now concentrate and offer its broad range of Cisco products and services.

Julian Klein, Managing Director for Ingram Micro (UK) Limited, commented: Our partnership in the UK has been such a success largely because of our focus on the enablement of resellers, the dedicated support teams we put in place and the detailed sales and marketing plans we develop. Ingram Micro has commenced Sales and Marketing activity in Ireland, including a series of Breakfast Briefings and SMB Accreditation Boot camps in October/November 2007 and again recently in January 2008. Further activity is planned throughout 2008 including Unified communications technology workshops during the second quarter of the year.
