Virtualisation proves increasingly lucrative for PlateSpin Channel

PlateSpin Ltd., a leading provider of unified workload lifecycle management solutions for the enterprise datacentre, has announced that it witnessed an increase in channel revenues of over 270% from 2006 to 2007 in the UK, driven by a wider end-user understanding of the benefits of virtualisation and an increase in expertise within the channel itself.

PlateSpin currently counts over 30 Platinum and Gold partners within its channel base, benefiting from full sales, marketing, technical and training support. PlateSpin also announced an increased deal registration incentive for its channel, doubling the discount for successful sales within the programme*.

The move was launched in tandem with the announcement of a new tier to the PlateSpin partner programme: Preferred Reseller. This level of partnership provides benefits including improved discounts and access to deal registration which, in conjunction with an investment in technical training, enables these resellers to build a successful business around PlateSpin solutions. These partners also gain access to Marketing Development Funds (MDF) and 24/7 support.

"2007 has been a great year for PlateSpin and we'd like to sincerely thank our channel partners for the hard work and effort they have put in to make it a record year of revenue," said Jason Jackson, Channel Director EMEA, PlateSpin. "To show our appreciation, we are now offering new and existing channel partners twice the discount for successful, registered deals. Deal registration is an excellent way of rewarding our partners for being proactive in the creation and closing of new opportunities. We're looking forward to more success next year and hope that partners in our new tier of Preferred Resellers begin to realise the gains to be made within the virtualization marketplace."

During 2007, PlateSpin released new versions of its popular PowerRecon and PowerConvert products, fuelling interest in datacentre management, resource planning and server consolidation. In addition, PlateSpin launched PlateSpin Forge, a brand new innovative disaster recovery hardware appliance for protecting physical and virtual server workloads using VMware infrastructure as a foundation for the solution. The product presents the channel with an easy to install and easy to configure appliance that represents a fantastic opportunity for both established virtualisation partners and those more at ease in the disaster recovery and business continuity sectors.

"We're delighted with the interest we've seen in PlateSpin this year and it is certainly a reflection of the virtualisation market maturing as a real depth of understanding spreads across industry sectors," said Rodney Azavedo, Sales Director at PlateSpin partner Intercept IT. "With a strong product suite and the new deal registration incentives in place, 2008 is lining up to be even greater than this year."

PlateSpin Forge will be available on general release in the UK from 2nd April 2008. Resellers and distributors wishing to find out more about PlateSpin products or in becoming a partner should visit: http://platespin.com/partners/ for further information.
