BEA Systems, Inc., a world leader in enterprise infrastructure software, has launched a new channel partner programme in Europe and the appointment of Magirus, a leading European IT solution provider, as its first Value Added Distributor (VAD) in Europe.
The new two-tier Value-Added Reseller (VAR) Programavailable initially in Central Europe, Italy and the U.K.will enable BEA to capitalise on growing demand for its enterprise infrastructure solutions and extend Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) market expansion throughout Europe.
The BEA VAR programme is an exciting new joint sales initiative designed to generate new business and maximise sales in a previously unexploited market sector, says Valerie Singer, Senior Director of Channels, EMEA, BEA Systems. BEA is proud to partner with Magirus, a successful distributor with a proven track record in the sale and implementation of leading-edge infrastructure software solutions. By helping BEA to recruit VARs to resell its products, Magirus will be instrumental in helping BEA expand aggressively into new market segments and coverage models.
In addition to offering coverage in BEAs core markets, the two-tier distribution model will extend BEAs sales reach into the lucrative upper mid-market sector (defined as organisations with between 1,000-2,500 employees). A recent BEA Partner Outlook survey revealed this upper mid-market segment as offering significant opportunities in Portal Solutions, Business Integration, Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), and Application Servers. BEA has recently signed an agreement with its first EMEA VADMagirusto distribute its products in UK, Italy, Germany, Austria and Switzerland with other territories to follow during 2008. An elite distributor of enterprise software products, Magirus is focused exclusively on solutions, professional services and support for ILM/storage management, intelligent networking, security, IT management, virtualisation, and Open Source.
We are looking forward to collaborating with BEA, Christian Magirus, Executive Vice President and COO, Magirus AG, said. Their highclass SOA products consistently expand our portfolio in the fields of IT management and virtualisation and offer our business partners solutions which further optimise the efficiency of data centres and IT infrastructure. We believe that our customers will like to make use of this range of new products and services to expand their business successfully.
BEA WebLogic and AquaLogictogether with the companys virtualisation solutionscomplement Magirus skills, allowing customers to realize the best of Open Source and proprietary software, achieve the flexibility they seek, and provide the basis for seamless SOA deployment.
BEA and Magirus will support the VADs and VARs to maximise their success through sales mentoring, sales enablement training, technical training, technical support, pre-sales training and support, marketing and lead generation support, access to unlimited development software. Moreover, this new two-tier model will not conflict with the existing direct sales force owing to clearly defined sales territories and rules of engagement with BEA sales and services teams. All of this is based on BEA best practices already in use in the U.S. and Asia.
