Technology solutions specialist, Brother, has launched a new hand-held A6 mobile printer designed for logistics companies whose drivers need to print on the move.

Slim, light and compact, the new M-Print device allows users to print documents from a PDA, Blackberry or laptop, wherever they are.  The portability of the new machine makes it perfect for printing out receipts and PODs for customers at the time of delivery.  This optimises workflow and cuts costs, saving duplication of input by back office staff.  A mobile printer also allows the user to leave a paper receipt with the customer improving customer service.

An earlier version, the MW-140BT, already in use as part of a mobile solution with Walon, a supplier of finished vehicles to the UK automotive industry, where it has been a great success.

The new M-Print MW-260BT can print on several kinds of paper, including carbon copy sheets especially useful when a signature is required. The new model prints on larger format paper - A6 rather than A7 - offering greater choice to users who require larger print or need to fit more data on the page. A Bluetooth connection removes the need for cables and thermal transfer technology provides quick, mess-free printing, with no ink cartridges to change.

Brother printing software is included for Pocket PC 2003, Windows Mobile 5 PDAs, Blackberry and Windows 2000/XP/Vista PCs and laptops. Software development kits can be provided for Compact Framework, C++, CE.Net and Blackberry to add mobile printing into bespoke applications.
