Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 wins award

In recent testing conducted by Anti-Malware Test Lab, Kaspersky Internet Security scores the best results for self-protection against malicious programs.

Anti-Malware Test Lab, a respected IT security research project, recently published the results of its analysis in which the 15 most popular antivirus products were tested.

Testing was conducted on a VMware GSX Server test stand. A virtual machine with Microsoft Windows XP SP2 was created for each antivirus product. Each product's self-protection was tested using specially developed utilities imitating various attack types.

Based on the testing results, Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 came top with a comfortable lead, scoring 32 points out of 33. It was the only product to receive the Gold Self-Protection Award.

Eight more products received the portals Silver Self-Protection Award and Bronze Self-Protection Award, however, other participants failed the testing, demonstrating that they are incapable of protecting themselves from malicious program attacks.

According to Sergey Ilyin, the author of the test, only Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0, which scored 97% of possible points, can effectively resist attacks.

A complete version of the review is available on the Anti-Malware Test Lab website.
