Techconnect, one of the most popular faceplates in the AV education and office installation markets, has been redeveloped for the IT channel.
The development means that IT installers have a faceplate and accompanying accessories that addresses the specific needs of their industry. The Techconnect traditionally comes supplied with cables and faceplate modules designed for use in the AV installation.
The Techconnect is popular in AV installation because of the flexibility its five drop in modules offer to installers. The move by Vision, manufacturers of the Techconnect, has sought to meet demand for tailored IT installation solutions by its customers.
The IT solution includes: a back box (which fits to the standard data trunk) and front surround, two VGA modules, a three socket audio module, a USB module, a network point connection, speaker terminal module and three blank modules which keep the faceplate looking neat when not all modules ports are in use.
Stuart Lockhart, Vision product manager, explains: IT installers were ordering Techconnect packages designed for the AV market. We knew that we could offer them a package that would be better suited to their needs. We spoke to our customers, found out what they wanted and came up with the best all round solution.
IT dealers often dont need as many add-ons as the AV installers. So weve created a new package that contains fewer modules and no cables. Additional cables and modules are available as spare parts so they can just buy what they need. Its a versatile solution purpose designed for the IT sector.
