Centia's comprehensive storage, server and desktop virtualisation strategy, featuring DataCore, Citrix, Platespin, Vizioncore and VMware, creates U.K. "one stop shop" for virtual infrastructure solutions.
DataCore Software, a leading provider of storage virtualisation, disaster recovery and SAN management software, has formally partnered with Centia Ltd, a leading knowledge-based distributor of smart 'Access' and virtualisation solutions. The relationship extends DataCoreT Software's distribution in the UK, and brings additional value to resellers through Centia's focused product offerings, advanced technical services and top-notch sales support.
"Virtualisation is a key driver in the industry, and storage virtualisation is a key element in any virtualisation strategy, said Angus Merelie, Centia's CEO. "By adding the industry's leading, storage and SAN infrastructure management software to our robust portfolio of virtualisation solutions, we've further demonstrated our commitment to providing knowledge-based, comprehensive, infrastructure expertise and solutions for the entire enterprise."
DataCore does for storage what VMware does for servers and what Citrix does for desktop access. As the virtual storage layer, DataCore completes a Total Enterprise Virtualisation strategy, cost effectively optimising disk space utilisation, protecting data, accelerating I/O performance, eliminating downtime and allowing for complete hardware independence.
"Centia provides the formula for solution providers to grow their businesses in the red hot, Total Enterprise Virtualisation market, and DataCore is the virtual storage part of that equation," stated George Teixeira, CEO and president, DataCore Software. "Centia selects best in class products, such as Citrix, VMware, and DataCore, and enriches these offerings with its own expertise in sales, training and technical services. Centia puts it all together so that resellers can build stronger businesses and generate long-term customer loyalty by offering total solutions."
Under the Agreement, Centia will distribute the full line of DataCore's storage virtualisation, disaster recovery, and continuous data protection solutions, including DataCore's SANsymphonyT and SANmelodyT storage virtualisation products and its newest continuous data protection (CDP) solution, TravellerT CPR , which allows users to go "back in time" to restore systems and data to previous states. DataCore solutions include thin provisioning "Virtual Capacity," a DataCore innovation that automates "just in time" capacity allocation to optimise storage utilisation.
"Centia is a recognised centre of excellence for VMware and Citrix and other virtualisation solutions," commented Nick Broadbent, UK Managing Director & VP of EMEA Operations, DataCore Software. "They understand that virtualisation is a major industry trend that has moved beyond server virtualisation. They focus their areas of expertise and offer only the best virtualisation solutions available and were, as a result, a natural choice for DataCore."
