New DocuMate 752, and DocuMate 632 with VRS scanners include Kofax software to automatically produce perfect scans

Visioneer Guildford has launched the DocuMate 752 high-speed duplex A3 flatbed production scanner. It is rated at 50 pages per minute and 100 images per minute in portrait mode with a suggested price of 2,995.

Kofax VRS (Virtual ReScan) technology enables the scanner to capture challenging documents -- such as those printed on security paper, recycled paper, wrinkled paper or thermal paper -- and delivers perfect scans automatically.

The Xerox DocuMate 752 is equipped with an A3-sized flatbed that can accommodate documents up to 11 x 17 on the glass or through the automatic document feeder.  The ScanSoft OmniPage Pro software bundle enables people to automatically scan to searchable PDF, making it easy to scan batches of mixed-sized documents.   Searchable PDF maintains the visual integrity of the original document, with the text portions of the image converted via OCR for search purposes and stored in a separate layer.  This makes it cost-efficient to convert paper documents to PDF, while simplifying how people distribute documents and search, link, select/copy and index the text.

For small- to mid-sized companies and larger corporate departments, the DocuMate 752 production scanner is an effective way to index a large volume of documents such as medical forms and import them to a content management solution or archive to a storage system. The Xerox DocuMate 752 further strengthens the family of award-winning DocuMate imaging solutions. When combined with the recent introduction of the Xerox DocuMate 152 scanner and Xerox DocuMate 632 scanner, it creates a product line-up that effectively targets all levels of document imaging requirements.

Documents scanned with Kofax VRS at the point of capture will boost the success of data extraction, recognition and retrieval, said Peter Trapmore, European Managing Director Visioneer Guildford.  We can now offer our customers a single vendor solution for all of their document capture requirements - including workgroup, departmental and production scanners.

DocuMate 752 Production Scanner

The Xerox DocuMate 752 offers an optical resolution of 600 dpi, 48-bit internal color, and a hi-speed USB 2.0 interface (USB 1.1 compatible). It also has a 120-page capacity automatic document feeder that can handle varying size paper and photos up to A3 (11 x 17) documents and a suite of bundled software applications and utilities.

These include Kofaxs award-winning VirtualReScan software that improves image quality and makes the scanning process more efficient for document management applications.  ScanSoft OmniPage Pro is a powerful optical character recognition productivity tool that delivers accurate and precise document conversion.

The Xerox DocuMate 752 scanners also include an ISIS driver certified by Pixel Translations and an advanced TWAIN driver developed by JFL Peripheral Solutions. These drivers ensure that the scanner will function properly with the more than 250 commercially available ISIS-compatible applications and will communicate effectively with enterprise content management and document image management software with the press of a single button.
