RFID-enabled asset management and supply chain solution provider Fluensee Inc. has signed an agreement to support Intelleflex's new battery-assisted passive RFID tags and readers as part of its comprehensive asset tracking and supply chain management solutions.

The Intelleflex line of tags and readers fills a necessary void between the lower price but limited capability of passive tags and the more expensive active technology available today. Through this alliance, Fluensee customers can now choose from a wider selection of RFID hardware options to complement Fluensee's asset management software.

Under the agreement, Fluensee is an authorized reseller of Intelleflex InfoSure single-chip RFID tags and I-Beam multi-protocol readers. The InfoSure battery-assisted passive tags have long-distance read/write capabilities of up to 100 meters in free space when used with the I-Beam readers, making them comparable with active tags, but at a significantly lower cost. The 100-meter read/write range in free space translates to 100 percent read/write reliability at standard working ranges in industrial environments.

"As a provider of RFID-enabled asset management software and services, Fluensee is committed to partnering with best-in-class manufacturers of RFID technologies," said Chris Brumett, Fluensee's vice president of operations. "Our partnership with Intelleflex further extends upon Fluensee's ability to deliver the most cost-effective asset management solutions to meet the various needs of our customers."

Fluensee has built a base of successful RFID implementations and a partner network that includes the world's leading RFID hardware manufacturers. The Intelleflex relationship extends Fluensee's ability to provide the best RFID options to customers in industries such as transportation and logistics, automotive and IT management, among others.

"With Intelleflex's newest RFID tags and readers, Fluensee customers can now reap the benefits of reliable, long-range reads characteristic of active tags, yet at a significantly lower cost," said Craig Kavanaugh, Intelleflex's senior director of channel sales. "Intelleflex's intelligent RFID platform represents a 'best of both worlds' approach between active and passive tags, and offers compelling value for multiple industry verticals for applications such as asset tracking and yard management."

Intelleflex's InfoSure tags and the I-Beam reader are multi-protocol, ensuring global interoperability using EPC standards. InfoSure tags can be used as passive C1G2 tags with any other C1G2 reader or used in the battery-assisted passive mode at long ranges with the I-Beam reader. In the event of a battery failure, the tags can be used as C1G2 passive tags.
