In its new report, Forrester Wave POS Software, Q3 2006, September 2006, Forrester Research has recognised Oracle Retail as a leading provider of point-of-sale solutions, Oracle announced today.
For retailers with heavy cross-channel requirements, Forrester gave Oracle Retail top marks. According to the report, Oracle Retail Point-of-Service was the only application to score strongly across multiple cross-channel requirements. Forrester also ranked Oracle among the leading providers of store-centric solutions typically used by grocery and convenience store retailers.

The Forrester Wave report considered 12 vendors and evaluated 15 products against approximately 137 criteria grouped into three major categories: current offering, strategy and market presence. Forrester used a combination of data sources to compile its report including the Association for Retail Technology Standards (ARTS) RFP template for retail software, vendor surveys, product demos and customer reference calls.
The Forrester report summarises that Oracle Retail Point-of-Service is more mature than other Java solutions on the market and is a strong offering overall.
