Compris software helps KFC reduces hardware costs

NCR Corporation today announced that KFC has completed the rollout of NCRs Compris point-of-sale (POS) solution across all 281 corporate-owned KFC outlets in the UK.

Compris software links KFCs tills with its back office and kitchen systems helping to improve productivity and customer service while the softwares open, hardware-independent platform has reduced KFCs hardware costs.

The completion of the UK installation means that we now have a single, modern POS application across all our company stores that will help drive our business, said Clive Burns, Field Systems Manager for KFC.

Compris reports transactions made at the till in real time, providing KFC with up-to-the-minute information with which to assist with ordering, inventory and production.           In addition, the softwares intuitive graphical interface and multi-media training capabilities have significantly reduced training times so that it only takes new staff around 20 minutes to learn to use the system.

Compris is widely recognised as a premier global software solution for the food service industry, said Alberto Camuri. NCRs vice president for Retail Solutions in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Its flexibility speed and accuracy greatly simplifies the operation of tills while the analytical data it provides empowers managers in todays highly competitive environment.

Compris was chosen as the preferred global provider of POS software in 1999 by KFCs parent company, Yum! Brands International, following successful field trials at two KFC outlets in the UK and Pizza Hut restaurants in Belgium and Germany.
