Anacomp forges partnership with Konica Minolta

Propack first Anacomp customer to benefit - with two 1050s

Anacomps print solutions, maintenance and service division has been appointed authorised dealer of Konica Minolta high volume digital print production systems. The move allows Anacomp to extend its solutions portfolio for the commercial print sector and meet a wider range of customers needs, and Konica Minolta gains access to a well-established client base with the assurance that its systems will be covered by Anacomps comprehensive maintenance and service packages.  

Anacomp has already supplied its long-standing customer Propack with two of Konica Minolta's flagship systems, the bizhub PRO 1050.  Propack is a provider of direct mail services based in Huddersfield, and required upgraded printing capabilities to cope with the rapid expansion of its direct mail business.  Specialising in printing short-run, creative collateral for advertising agencies, Propack needed a system that combined high volume production with flexible stock handling.  The Konica Minolta bizhub PRO 1050, as one of the first machines in the production sector to offer this combination, is capable of handling paper up to 300 g/m (simplex) and 244 g/m (duplex) at a print speed of up to 6,300 A4 sheets an hour.  Thanks to the new agreement with Konica Minolta, Anacomp were able to provide this system to Propack - who subsequently ordered a second when the first proved a huge asset. 

Neil Lloyd (pictured left), Managing Director, Propack, said, "We have relied on Anacomp's consultative, solution-based approach for a number of years, and are very pleased with their recommendation of the bizhub PRO 1050.  The system is very quick to set up for each job, processes awkward paper stock at high speed and requires very little personnel resource to oversee it.  Together, the two machines now process 80-90% of our total output, or around 1.4 million items per month, which was previously handled by a dozen different machines.
