Websense, Inc. a global leader in web security and web filtering productivity software, today announced its new Websense Accreditation Training Programme. Designed and developed in partnership with Unipalm (a Computerlinks company) the programme specifically aims to provide channel partners with the knowledge and skills required to install, configure and support the entire Websense product portfolio from installation through to final deployment. It will allow Websense distributors throughout the world to host Websense Accreditation Training sessions, help produce a skilled reseller channel, and thus create new revenue-generating opportunities.

Superseding the Websense Certified Security Engineer accreditation, the new programme will consist of two courses: a one day overview where trainees qualify as a Websense Certified Web Security Engineer (CWSE) and a two day advanced course for those who have already taken and passed the Websense CWSE course. The advanced course, Websense CWSE+, will build on the overview course to include network and system deployment requirements, installing and testing Websense Remote Filtering and performing forensic analysis of logs.

Our training division was delighted to work with Websense in the development of the new channel training programme. With internet security becoming an increasingly complex threat to businesses, it is vital that our Websense reseller partners have the knowledge and skills to ensure businesses receive a high level of service when it comes to security, giving their customers peace of mind. The new accreditation programme will ensure our partners can offer the highest standard of excellence and understanding when supplying Websense products to end user customers, explained Wendy Hoey, Product Group Manager of Computerlinks Company Unipalm.

Frank Coggrave, Western European Senior Director of Websense, added: Our accreditation programme is an excellent example of how vendors and distributors can work together to develop the channel, while creating new revenue streams. The new programme will give our channel partners a real understanding of the Websense Web Security Suite architecture as well as giving them the knowledge to better protect their organisation from internet security threats.
