Fujitsus fi-5900C provides customers with industry leading scanning and performance at mid-range price point

Fujitsu Europe, the leading manufacturer of document scanners, today launches its new high-speed fi-5900C production scanner for distribution to UK customers. The state of the art scanner satisfies all requirements relating to high-speed productivity, reliability, operator convenience and ROI maximisation. With an outstanding 100,000 sheets per day scanning capability, small footprint, multi-feed detection capability based on multi-zoning ultrasonic sensors, the fi-5900C sets a new standard in scanning performance.

High-speed: fast and reliable

Fujitsus latest capture device enables the fi-5900C to scan 100 sheets per minute in simplex mode at a resolution of 300 dpi (A4 portrait) in colour, greyscale or monochrome, or 120 sheets per minute in A4 landscape. In duplex mode the speed is doubled to an impressive 200 images (A4 portrait) per minute or 240 images (A4 landscape) per minute enabling large volume scanning operations at high speed. The custom made CCD sensors guarantee fast capture and brilliant image replication, even of oversized or de-skewed documents, without losing information from the edges of the documents.

Paper handling features: easy and versatile

The fi-5900C scans virtually all types of paper documents regardless of paper quality, size or weight.  Thanks to a combination of three multi-zoning ultrasonic sensors the user can decide individually if selected document segments are to be controlled or ignored and even very thick documents can be recognised, avoiding unnecessary interruptions with incorrectly reported double feeds.

Image quality features: high visual quality through latest innovations

The fi-5900C is fully equipped with a Kofax VRS 4.0 Plus hardware module that can be used for adding advanced image enhancement operations to the scanning process, enabling digital document images that show high visual quality and require little or no additional manual interference. The hardware module contains some of the most advanced options like Intelligent Content Orientation Recognition and auto-rotation.  Whilst utilizing the auto colour detection feature within VRS 4.0 Plus the fi-5900C can automatically identify the colour characteristics of the original document and store each individual page accordingly without the need for sheet separation.

Operator centric features: easy and comfortable

Ergonomically designed for ease of use, the fi-5900C incorporates a number of innovative features to assist operators, such as closing the ADF when not in use to minimise dust settling within the scanner, thereby reducing cleaning requirements.  The reduction in footprint by 35% compared to similar products means that this scanner will not look out of place in any office environment, particularly advantageous when several fi-5900Cs are in use.

ROI features: maximum benefit with minimal effort

With a processing capacity up to 100,000 documents per day and a huge variety of interface options, Fujitsus newest scanner model belongs to the economical elite.  The fi-5900Cs affordable price point, combined with the long life of its consumables (600,000 documents) means that the scanner delivers a phenomenal cost-benefit-balance ratio.
