FileMaker and Douglas Stewart EDU call out for education resellers

Opportunities for specialists to benefit from increased focus in the sector

FileMaker, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Apple Computer, is on the lookout for more resellers to supply their world-leading database software to schools, colleges and universities.

Douglas Stewart EDU Limited, FileMakers strategic distribution partner for education, has already signed up Ramesys, Phoenix and Civica to name a few but is looking for more specialist resellers who are capitalising on growth in the uptake of IT as a management tool in education.

Resellers will not only be able to sell volume licences of FileMaker Pro 8, FileMaker Pro 8 Advanced and FileMaker Pro 8 Server, they will also have access to FileMakers specialised solutions for educational establishments.  One of the most effective tools available Lesson Planner, developed by 3Square Associates offers teachers an easy-to-learn package that takes the burden out of their day-to-day administrative tasks.  The broad appeal and ease-of-use of these types of education solutions and there will be more solutions to follow will also help the resellers to convince non-technical educational audiences of the advantages of moving to FileMaker Pro 8.

As education represents one of the biggest latent tech markets in the UK, FileMaker is keen to give strong incentives to established resellers with influence in the sector.  Margin will be discussed on a case-by-case basis with Douglas Stewart EDU.
