Perfectly suited for retail applications small, lightweight and tough

The latest arrival to the CipherLab range of portable data terminals, the CPT-8071 Series, offers operators WI-FI connectivity to any commercially available access point that is 802.11b certified. Small, lightweight and tough, the pocket-size unit is easy to use and is powerful enough to link users directly to main servers, enabling them to get immediate responses, make instant systems updates and ultimately to work more efficiently with greater speed.

The 8071 features a 1MB program memory, with an option of up to 2MB memory for data storage. In addition there is an integrated Linear Imager or Laser Scanner capable of reading standard codes from up to 30cms. The ergonomic design is able to withstand multiple 1.2m drops onto concrete and can operate at 0 to 60 C temperature range, making it versatile enough to be used in the most challenging working environments.

Equipped with a 21-button keypad, the 8071 has been specifically designed to reflect the layout of a standard mobile phone, which means that anyone familiar with mobile texting will quickly and easily be able to operate the unit. Lit with an LED backlight and a 100X64 Graphics LCD display, the durable 8071 is clear and bright in low-lighting conditions and with its Li-ion rechargeable battery pack it can be used non-stop for up to 50,000 scans. The user-friendly terminal is easily programmed in C BASIC and offers users outstanding and consistent performance, making it a perfect solution for retail applications.

The 8071 is very aggressively priced and due to its ability to connect to any Wi-Fi network through standard access points, is extremely cost effective to deploy.

Cipherlab UKs sales and marketing director Ray Marsh says, The 8071 gives operators an outstanding level of performance and will handle 80% of the applications anyone would ever need from a portable terminal. It is a powerful and portable solution which is easy for operators to use.
