Adaptec, a global leader in storage solutions, today launched an interactive online portal dedicated to educating UK resellers on the hottest new storage technology, Serial Attached SCSI (SAS). The launch follows Adaptecs recent introduction of the industrys most extensive family of end-to-end SAS storage solutions.
The portal consists of a SAS Knowledge Center, interactive SAS tutorials, online surveys and SAS reseller promotions, as well as the opportunity to be among the first to get access to SAS evaluation products. Resellers can register on-line, for free.
Education is critical to the channels rapid adoption of SAS, said Russ Johnson, general manager and vice president of international sales and marketing at Adaptec. Although the transition to SAS is underway, many resellers still know very little about SAS, despite the fact that SAS will play a key role in most of their storage deployments by the end of 2006. Resellers need to take advantage of the education programmes being offered and work closely with vendor partners to ensure they are well placed to capitalise on the revenue opportunity that SAS offers.
This Web site builds upon the success of other Adaptec programmes designed to help the channel learn more, and make money from, the emerging SAS opportunity. Last month Adaptec launched an online storage advisory service that allows resellers around the world to directly quiz its foremost storage experts on their SAS questions and problems.
