Storage pioneer Fibrenetix is set to launch a revolutionary affordable workstation RAID system aimed at the burgeoning broadcast, video and digital imaging markets.
The new 6-bay Qubex featuring high-performance 4GBit Fibre Channel or Ultra320 SCSI host connection, delivering up to 3 Terabytes of SATA-II RAID storage at a cost of approx. USD2.00 per gigabyte, is the culmination of months of research and development by Fibrenetix engineers.

Qubex is easy to use, offers stylish design in a compact enclosure measuring just 12 inches (30cm) wide and operates with low noise to deliver outstanding storage capacity of up to 3 Terabytes. The 6-bay unit features hot swap hard disks and guarantees no loss of data in the event of a disk drive failure. The new unit can be configured using the onboard Ethernet connection, allowing remote configuration and monitoring via the Internet. In another radical innovation, Fibrenetix engineers have virtually eliminated noise irritation.
Said Nagel: We have all suffered from noisy PCs and RAID systems in the past. To solve this problem, we developed the Qubex with an external power supply, so there is no longer an internal power source generating heat and causing noise. We also incorporated a slow moving, whisper-quiet fan, making Qubex the perfect solution for any desktop.
