Tumbleweed Announces New Sales Direction With First Ever European Partner Programme

Tumbleweed Communications Corp. (NASDAQ:TMWD), a leading provider of email security, file transfer security, and identity validation software and appliances, today announced its aggressive new channel strategy for Europe. As part of this strategy, the company will be actively recruiting channel partners, and has announced the appointment of two value added distributors to support this growth - Access Distribution for the UK, France and the Netherlands, and Ectacom for Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

Tumbleweed initiated its channel strategy in the US in 2004 and is rapidly growing the share of channel led business. The European Partner Programme aims to give resellers access to Tumbleweeds secure Internet communications solutions. Value added offerings, including co-marketing, training, and both sales and technical support, allow partners to increase margins and better meet customer requirements in the mid and large customer segments.

Tumbleweed offers solutions in three comprehensive product suites: MailGate, SecureTransport, and Validation Authority. MailGate provides protection against spam, viruses, and attacks, and enables policy-based message filtering, encryption, and routing. SecureTransport enables business to safely exchange large files and transactions without proprietary software. Validation Authority is the world-leading solution for determining the validity of digital certificates. Tumbleweeds products are widely used across the US and Europe, with customers including eight out of the top 10 banks. The European Partner Programme aims to build on top of this success and grow the European market share.

Access Distribution, a value-added distributor of enterprise computing equipment and solutions, will assist in creating a network of Tumbleweed reseller partners in the UK, France and the Netherlands. Ectacom will provide a similar function within Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
