Brother has extended its colour laser printer range with the introduction of a network-ready machine complete with print, fax, copy and scan facilities.
The perfect space-saving solution for a small office, the MFC-9420CN combines all four functions for a suggested retail price of 649 (ex VAT). Its flatbed design, well-lit blue LCD screen and front-opening cartridge holder ensures that the machine is both easy to set up and use.
Brothers Head of Product Management, Julie Harrison, said: Our new multifunction machine is an ideal choice for those who need more facilities than just printing, but who dont have the space. Although the market is in its infancy, we anticipate that users will consider the benefits of an all-in-one colour laser device that has the same productivity as a stand-alone printer.
The new MFC-9420CN offers a quick 31ppm mono and 8ppm colour print and copy speed, with a high resolution up to 2400dpi to deliver high quality printing. It also has a 64MB memory that can be easily expanded to cope with increasing network demands.
The machines Secure Print feature is a must for users printing confidential documents. By protecting print jobs with a dedicated password it will store them in its memory and only print when the user has entered the correct code.
A 400 page memory, 200 speed dials, 16 one-touch speed dials and a 33,600bps modem feature on the fax can compete with any standalone on the market. The copy function has a resolution of up to 600 x 600dpi and can reduce or enlarge documents from 25 per cent to 400 per cent, making it a flexible machine for everyday use.
The scanner offers up to 1200 x 2400dpi (from glass) and 1200 x 600dpi (from automatic document feeder) and a software enhanced 9600dpi resolution. In addition, the Scan key saves the user time by enabling a document to be scanned to email, image, Optical Character Recognition (OCR) or file from the MFC.
Internet Fax (iFax) comes as standard on the MFC-9420CN, this means faxes can be sent and received over an intranet or the internet without paying telephone costs.
Consumables come ready installed in the MFC-9420CN and Brother also offers a years on-site warranty, giving customers complete peace of mind.
