NEW RELEASE OF WEB COLLABORATION APPLICATION SUPPORTS H.323 STANDARD

Web collaboration software developer Marratech, has introduced a new version of its Internet based application with built-in support for the International Telecommunication Unions (ITUs) H.323 audiovisual conferencing standard.

The H.323 standard allows users to make the most of existing video conferencing hardware and software. It defines how real-time audiovisual conferencing data is transmitted across IP-based networks, allowing for shared conferences between disparate conferencing applications. The standard outlines the intricacies of every aspect of video conferencing, including voice, video, data, application sharing and white boarding.

Commented CEO Lars Persson: "Support of the H.323 standard allows users to leverage the technology they already have. The education market in particular is rapidly moving to adopt technology to enhance the education process, but must contend with strict budget constraints. Now schools and universities can include existing technology in their Internet enabled learning programmes."

While other Web-based products require extensive set up and bridges, the company says that tight integration of H.323 into its server application allows for painless and seamless connection to other applications. Marratech Manager 3.2 is compatible with the current versions of major video conferencing applications that adhere to the H.323 standard for video and audio communications. Going forward, the company will continue to add support for additional video systems.

Marratech Manager provides state-of-the-art video conferencing capabilities through simple client software on the user's PC. Using a Webcam and a headset they can work effectively and efficiently even from remote locations. Users enter a virtual meeting room with a single click on a URL. Marratech Manager provides all the necessary tools, including high-quality voice communications, live video, messaging, application sharing and an interactive whiteboard. Meeting attendees can see and speak to each other, and share documents and applications interactively in order to exchange ideas and work together. The software provides a secure connection over the Internet via any high speed broadband connection.
