Centennial expands channel operations...

Centennial Software, a leading developer of IT asset discovery and security management solutions, is increasing its channel activity with the aim of recruiting up to 20 new EMEA resellers in the next 12 months.

In the last quarter the company has invested heavily its in-house channel management team with the recruitment of four dedicated channel sales professionals. New recruits include channel heavyweights Steve Atkins, who joins from Unipalm to drive sales for DeviceWall, Centennials recently-launched endpoint security solution, and Andrew McConnell, who joins from LANDdesk to drive sales for Discovery, Centennials market leading IT asset discovery software.

In a significant step towards strengthening its reseller channel, Centennial signed agreements with four new UK resellers this summer, including Insight, Pillar Solutions and Fusion. As Centennial sells only through its authorised partners, it is committed to investing heavily in sales, marketing and technical support for new and existing partners.

Centennials solutions offer us a new set of tools to help our customers best utilise technology for improving business performance without falling foul of the associated risks, said Victor Dennis, managing director at Pillar Solutions. DeviceWall 3.0 gives IT departments the ability to manage the influx of removable media devices into the workplace easily without impacting on productivity.

Dennis continued: Companies can make the most of the benefits such as facilitating mobile working while protecting the business from threats such as data theft and exposure to viruses which may or may not be intentional. By automating control of what devices can be connected to the network by who, DeviceWall 3.0 helps IT teams to implement policies surrounding removable media devices without having to resort to impractical, draconian measures.

Having Fusion, Insight and Pillar Solutions on board and a rapidly strengthened team dedicated to growing and servicing the channel is a big step forward for us, said Marc Adams, senior vice-president, field operations at Centennial Software. The aim now is to continue our focused approach to building the channel, ensuring we develop relationships with specialist resellers with a proven track record in specific vertical sectors.

Understanding what assets are in place on the corporate network can save thousands of pounds by minimising the risk of over licensing, as well as making sure that a company is compliant with all its software agreements. As such, Centennials products fit naturally into any implementation targeted on reducing cost and ensuring maximum efficiency.

Centennials Discovery and DeviceWall products provide resellers and systems integrators with a solution that ensures clients have the information they need to manage devices on the network efficiently and securely.

Discovery 2005 provides a complete dynamic insight into the use of software and hardware running on the company network, while DeviceWall enables IT departments to monitor and manage the multitude of portable media devices now being brought into the workplace.
