Muratec launches F300 multifunction fax for business users

Muratec, the multifunction specialist company, has launched the F300 business fax machine, with multifunctional capability for copying, scanning and printing. In line with Muratecs policy of offering customers low total cost of ownership, the F300 has a 0.75p cost per copy because it uses Muratecs new high yield toner*.

As part of Muratecs pioneering low cost TCO strategy the economical F300 has separate drum and toner units to minimise operating costs. The 20,000-page drum life (two page cycle) ensures low running costs while the toner cartridge produces 15,000 sheets at four percent coverage. The F300 automatically requests consumable replacements and engineer servicing. All consumable items can be changed easily with the F300s front opening cabinet. With a total design life of 300,000 pages the F300 is designed for commercial fax usage and is far more robust than fax machines designed for the SoHo market.

For fax operation the F300 has a 33.6k bps modem for a fast 2 second per page transmission speed. ITU-T Super Group 3 standard is supported with JBIG compression. The broadcast fax facility can be used for 230 locations and there are 40 one-touch dials and 160 abbreviated speed dials. A second line option is also available.

Advanced security features make the F300 ideal for the busy office environment where fax security is essential. Secure reception with PIN access means faxes can be received into memory and only retrieved by the intended recipient.

The F300 can be used for convenience sheet fed copying with an ADF (automatic document feeder) that can stack up to 80 originals for fast throughput of copy jobs. Copy speed is 13 pages per minute with a first copy out time of just twelve seconds. The F300 has an 8Mbyte (650 pages of text) standard memory that can be used to store copy jobs and memory is upgradeable to 40Mbyte (3,370 pages of text). The F300s zoom facility has eight pre-set zoom ratios for standard settings.

As standard the F300 can be used as a GDI computer printer with colour scanning facility using the USB 2.0 port. Print resolution is 600 by 600 dpi using LED print technology for high quality copy output. An optional network upgrade is available, along with a PCL6 print controller allowing PCL6 network printing and black and white scanning to hard drive, e-mail or Internet fax.

The F300 has a 500 sheet A4 paper drawer as well as a 50 sheet bypass facility. An optional 500 sheet paper drawer can be added to give a total paper capacity of 1,050 sheets. Paper up to A4 in size and 128gsm in weight can be used with the F300.

A triple access facility means that the versatile F300 can perform three functions simultaneously for example receiving a fax into memory, printing from computer and also scanning.

Commenting on the launch of the F300, Jonathan Whitworth, Sales and Marketing Director for Muratec said, The F300 is an important addition to the Muratec range. Designed primarily for fax use, the F300s multifunction capabilities make it a versatile imaging system for workgroups. We have been winning major contracts from the corporate sector for Muratec fax systems based on our low TCO and the F300 maintains this policy with a long life drum and high toner yield. We expect to secure major orders for the F300 from our corporate enterprise customers.

*Yields based on six percent document coverage and two page printing cycle.
