Toshiba Europe Storage Device Division today celebrated the launch of its latest optical disc drive; SD-R5472, a multi-format DVD recorder capable of supporting up to 6x DVD+R dual-layer burning. In conjunction with the launch of their latest product, Toshiba also unveiled a limited-edition retail kit celebrating the 2006 FIFA World Cup(tm) as well as an online contest. Everyone has the opportunity to win tickets to the 2006 FIFA World Cup(tm) Group Matches - of which Toshiba Europe Storage Device Division is an Official IT Partner.
The new SD-R5472 can store up to 8.5GB on a single disc and delivers faster writing speeds across DVD-R and DVD-RW formats. This includes DVDR speeds up to 16x, up to 6x on DVD-RW, 8x on DVD+RW and 48X CD-R.
"The SD-R5472 upon the success of our recent dual layer drives with increased flexibility and performance across all DVD and CD formats," explained Nick Spittle, Senior Manager Product Development, Toshiba Europe Storage Device Division. "This offers our customers increased freedom to create feature rich movies and music and of course the opportunity to store and share all the best moments from the beautiful game."
In addition, as part of its sponsorship of the 2006 FIFA World Cup(tm), Toshiba Europe Storage Device Division is offering all purchasers of the SD-R5472 retail kit, the opportunity to one of ten double passes to opening group matches at next years' football World Cup.
