SMC Networks today announced the newest additions to its EZ Switch line of easy to use, affordable networking solutions for SOHO and home networking: the EZ Switch 10/100/1000 8-port 10/100/1000 Gigabit switch (SMCGS8) and the EZ Switch 10/100/1000 5-port 10/100/1000 Gigabit switch (SMCGS5).

The SMC-EZ Switch 10/100/1000 SMCGS8 and SMCGS5 8 and 5-port 10/100/1000 unmanaged Gigabit switches are ideal for users looking to migrate to gigabit speeds on a home or SOHO network. With auto-MDIX on all ports and quiet, fanless operation, these new EZ Switches are the best choice for the SOHO desktop, at the most affordable price.

"Home and SOHO users are looking for ways to open up bandwidth, but don't want a stack of ugly hardware in the corner," said Iain Kenney, product manager for the SMC switch portfolio. "These quiet, small-footprint switches were designed with the home and SOHO desktop in mind, providing five or eight ports of Gigabit switching in a form factor that works on the desk."
