TOSHIBA TEC, leading retail and industrial automation solutions provider, announce today the versatile and compact B-SA4 desktop printer for the office and industrial environments.

The Toshiba B-SA4 desktop printer has a footprint close to A4 paper size, with the front opening top-loading design engineered to fit minimal desk space, but with the flexibility to configure to suit most applications.

The B-SA4 combines high-speed printing (up to 152.4 mm/sec) and enhanced connectivity with its standard fitted interfaces: parallel, USB 2.0 and Ethernet LAN, essential for many industrial applications such as health care and hospital environments.

This desktop printer has the performance of an industrial printer and is engineered to be future-proof with a wide range of options such as the Wireless LAN interface. With organisations requiring RFID technology be implemented in their logistics and supply chain systems by 2005, TOSHIBA TEC has engineered the B-SA4 to be RFID-enabled (HF and UHF).

The B-SA4 is available with either a tough metal outer-casing or a lighter plastic casing, making the overall ergonomic design suited to both the office or harsh industrial environments. Its superior quality output and exceptional performance makes this affordable printer a solid, dependable performer.

Low Total Cost of Ownership is assured with a combination of high print quality, ease of use and the B-SA4s plug-and-play compatibility.

The new B-SA4 printer series comes equipped with a complete Central Network Management Suite. This allows the user to manage all SNMP printers in the network through their IP address and serial number, simultaneously update firmware across the network and have real-time status of each individual printer, including troubleshooting support.

The B-SA4 facilitates simple user maintenance with easy access to main service parts. The snap-in printhead and quick-change platen roller can be replaced by the operator in minutes without the need for costly engineer intervention.

The B-SA4 is available with either a 200 dpi or 300 dpi print head and the 200 dpi model can be easily upgraded to 300dpi by just replacing the print head, a unique feature from TOSHIBA TEC. Extras such as peel and cutter fit neatly under the hood, to keep the footprint compact. The TOSHIBA TEC B-SA4 is available now.
