At Retail Solutions 2005 (7th 9th June, NEC, Birmingham) international POS printer manufacturer, Star Micronics, demonstrated its first foray into wireless performance, launching new interfaces for its flagship thermal and matrix printers.

The application versatility of Stars high speed TSP700 thermal printer is further extended by its new wireless capability (WiFi interface), 802.1 compliancy and WEP encryption support. For matrix users, Stars SP500s unrivalled matrix printer will be the first to offer wireless capability in Qtr3 2005, adding this new functionality to its renowned unmatched price/performance ratio and high speed, logic-seeking operation.

Wireless printers provide users across the hospitality and retail sectors with the next stage in operational flexibility, no longer being restricted to a static cash desk to print receipts, tickets or invoices.

Both of the Star printers have been designed to offer considerable versatility across applications and operating environments, incorporating Drop-In & Print paper loading and supporting the manufacturers policy for performance longevity.
