Webwasher AG, a wholly owned subsidiary of CyberGuard Corporation (Nasdaq: CGFW), a global provider of security solutions, and Blue Coat(r) Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: BCSI), a leading provider of proxy appliances, today announced a partnership to deliver CyberGuard's Webwasher(r) URL Filter on the high-performance Blue Coat ProxySG(tm) appliances.

The combination of the Webwasher URL Filter with Blue Coat's proxy appliances enable customers to filter unwanted Web content without interrupting legitimate Web traffic. The combined solution provides increased network performance and simplified installation, and will enable enterprises to boost productivity by reducing non-business related Web surfing, curb IT costs associated with downloading bandwidth-intensive files, and minimize legal risks by filtering out inappropriate Web sites.

"Blue Coat proxy appliances are an ideal platform for running our Webwasher URL Filter database," said Dr. Horst Joepen, SVP of strategic alliances for CyberGuard. "The combination of Webwasher's URL Filter with Blue Coat's proxy appliance platform will provide a comprehensive and proactive solution to address the Web security and control needs of today's enterprises."

"Partnering with Webwasher enables Blue Coat to offer customers an additional choice for on-proxy URL filtering," said Steve Mullaney, vice president of marketing for Blue Coat. "While the Blue Coat ProxySG appliances with Webwasher URL filtering give customers comprehensive Web security and control, Blue Coat also provides customers with a 10-times performance increase for Web traffic on the network."
