Lucas on target to become EPoS solution of choice for small, medium and large retailers

Lucas, the Java-based store management solution from Torex Retail, is on target to become the EPoS solution of choice for small, medium and large retailers with a further 70 stores rolling the system out in the UK and Ireland.

Leading retailers, including shoe retailer Deichmann, regional department store Atkinsons, Texas in the Republic of Ireland, and JD Sports leisurewear retailers RD Scott and ATH Leisure stores, are all rolling the solution out to benefit from reduced downtime, lower total cost of ownership and integrated reporting and store management tools.

With over 8,000 installations across Europe, the recent orders highlight Lucas position as the industrys leading store management and EPoS solution. Fashion retailer Reiss has also confirmed its intention to roll Lucas out to its 30 stores across the UK, following successful implementation in its US flagship New York store.

Using open XML-based standards, Lucas is available on Windows or Linux platforms providing retailers with flexibility and choice. The solutions store information and management modules enable retailers to monitor data and processes at the point of sale and easily execute daily or period closings. The Lucas Mix&Match discounting and promotion module provides a powerful facility for centrally controlling a wide variety of promotions and automatically sending the promotions to the tills in-store. Lucas also provides retailers with unparalleled scalability and ease of integration with loss prevention, business intelligence and merchandise management applications.
