Trend Channel Programme packages Managed Services

Trend Network Services is launching the Trend Channel Programme, a major new Partner Programme designed to springboard resellers into the profitable IT services market.

Trend has become known as the UK's number one provider of network services to the Channel. Now, as a major division of Phoenix IT Group, Trend is offering all of the infrastructure and support services offered by the Group.

Together with its parent company Phoenix IT Group, Trend has a national force of over 350 field engineering staff and over 300 support specialists and helpdesk staff handling 400,000 calls per year.

Trend is geared to deliver services through the Channel, with a 24 x 365 Operational Support Centre, monitoring services, an online support portal and a reseller support team.

Both Trend and Phoenix operate a partner-only sales model, with no direct sales to end users. The Group is entirely dedicated to selling services, it does not sell products.

The new Trend Channel Programme will retain Trend's existing partnerships and its style of operating with channel partners.

Trend has created a complete portfolio of services that can be re-branded and sold by a reseller. These include the company's own specialised network  services: NetCare, NetControl and NetSecure services and consultancy and the broader range of support services provided by Phoenix: Field Services, Open Systems Support, Service Desk, Deskside Support, Projects and Project Management, Systems Management and Disaster Recovery.

Trend has set up a new, dedicated Channel Sales Team of seventeen personnel, headed by Paul Salliss, to implement the new reseller programme.

The team will focus on enabling the Channel to grow its services business, in partnership with Trend. Considerable investment has been made in areas that can allow the partner to grow its services revenue stream - lead generation expertise, services training personnel and a team to assist in the commercial and bid activity.

Initially, Trend aims to partner with a select number of resellers that have a passion to grow their services business and Trend will seek to incorporate these resellers into the new programme.

"We believe there is a large hole in the market for a services vendor to really focus on assisting channel partners in driving their services business forwards. Trend has the correct model, breadth of capability and the right team of people to fill this gap."

Trend's launch comes immediately after Gartner's stark warning that three in ten channel companies will disappear unless they change their business models.

Trend, as part of Phoenix IT Group, is accredited by nine major vendors: Cisco Gold Certified Partner, Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, Checkpoint Service Partner, HP Authorised Service Delivery Partner, Crossbeam Authorised Support Partner, Nortel Networks Specialist Support Partner, IBM Tivoli Managed Service Partner, Nokia Authorised Partner, IBM Business Partner and 3com Focus Partner.
